Diy Yarn Wall Art – Part 1

I had been working so hard to try and get this project finished by todays post, however I ran out of time and will have to finish this coming weekend! However, I wanted to share the project, some inspiration pictures and my current progress in todays post.

For the past few months, I have been admiring TONS of bohemian-inspired woven wall hangings popping up on Instagram, Pinterest and Etsy. Below are some images of what I am talking about!

Instead of purchasing one on Etsy, I decided to buy materials and make one myself. I found a great online tutorial for a tassel yarn hanging from the blog Honestly WTF and followed it step by step. Purchasing the yarn, stick, jute string and paint stain totaled approximately $35. Here are some of my photos of the process! (Although I ran out of time this week, you can easily finish the project within 3-4 hours. I have just been working on it 30 min here, 30 min there between work and all – so its taken awhile!)

Above is how I plan to lay the tassels above my bed! This weekend I plan on staining the stick, and hanging the final result. Stay tuned for final result pics on Monday!

Have a great weekend 🙂
