Do you love fresh and/or cold pressed juice? If so, you are in good company over here at Slow It Down Girl. Much to my liking, juice bars have been popping up all over Boston at an impressive and steady pace for the past 4 years and they don’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. For me, it doesn’t get much better than a cold-pressed juice following a work-out or for a refreshing pick-me-up. On top of being simply delicious, juices are extremely hydrating and provide a concentrated source of nutrients. To be real with you, I won’t sugar-coat the fact that some juices can have a deceptively high amount of sugar that can turn a seemingly healthy beverage into something that is better suited as an occasional treat. Here are a few tips to keep in mind when you are deciding what juice to order:
1. Read the ingredients! All of the Boston-based juice spots make this easy as they share each and every ingredient used in each juice.
2. Opt for a juice that contains greens (the more greens, the better).
3. Remember that the fiber from fruits, veggies and nuts is stripped away during the juicing process. So don’t forget to eat your fruits, veggie and nuts in addition to drinking them.
Here’s a list of the best go-to juice spots in Boston by neighborhood (according to me that is) 🙂
