They say in New England, if you don’t like the weather…wait 20 minutes! Last week it was 90 degrees and I was wearing summery dresses into the office. This week it is a mere 65 (brr!) and sure enough everyone in the city is ready for the cool weather, sporting fall riding boots, scarves and cargo jackets. In my opinion, it’s the perfect time of year to get creative by mixing/matching summer and winter wardrobes! Some of my favorite early fall looks include mixing heavy pieces with lighter pieces. For example: wearing a chunky knit sweater with bright white jeans or skinny jeans with summery strappy sandals.
Inspired to mix and match, I put together two different looks that would be perfect for early fall temperatures.
Fall/Winter pieces: cargo jacket, leopard clutch, distressed jeans
Summer Pieces: blush silk tank, strappy sandals
Fall/Winter pieces: leather skirt, chambray
Summer Pieces: tan clutch, silver flats
Chances are, you have a lot of great outfits waiting to be curated from your own closet by combining heavier clothing with your favorite summer pieces.
